CSC to meet Barbara FollettThe CSC have managed to secure a meeting with Barbara Follett MP, the Minister for Communities and Local Government with a brief for the Third Sector and Social Enterprise within DCLG and we have around 10 spaces for CSC Members interested in attending. This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate the importance of both the sector and the work of the CSC to demand the sort of change that will really support and benefit our community groups.
More information Barbara joined DCLG in her position as Minister for the Third Sector and Social enterprise in September 2009, moving from her role as Minister for the Arts at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. She said at the time: "I am delighted with my new job as a Minister at the Department for Communities and Local Government. As a Member of Parliament, I know what a tremendously important role local government plays in the day-to-day lives of people across the country and I look forward to working with Stevenage Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council to continue improving local services for our communities." During her time in Parliament, Barbara has also served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to both Tessa Jowell and Ruth Kelly as Minister for Women and to Tessa Jowell again as Secretary of State at the Department for Culture Media and Sport. |
