More information Increasing Government recognition of the contribution of multi-purpose community organisations to the communities they serve has led to several key new policies and initiatives. This year has already seen new funds for the refurbishment and transfer of buildings and assets, new small and micro grant funds for community groups and a new initiative to ensure that community voices are heard and acted upon. The Department for Communities and Local Government are working on a major new programme for next year to strengthen the network of ‘community anchors’ across England. This conference will include speakers on these and a wide range of other important issues for community organisations to enable them to make the most of their buildings, land, funds, volunteers and local good will. |
