Liberating Leadership

Liberating Leadership is a new approach to leadership for the community sector that will be a powerful resource for change. It questions traditional assumptions about leadership and draws on the Coalition's grassroots experience.

Existing models of leadership, both in academic literature and in leadership training, do not work well for the community sector. They focus on the individual and fail to reflect the values and perspectives of the community sector. Liberating Leadership is about supporting leadership in networks and neighbourhoods, street events and sports clubs, temples and tenants associations, festivals and fetes, music groups and mosques.
